How to Find us
The Uig Hotel enjoys spectacular views over Uig Bay in the north of Skye, where you can watch the ferries going to and from the islands.
By Car
When you cross the Skye Bridge take the A87 and follow all the way to Uig. The Hotel is on the right as you come down the hill from Earlish, before you get to the main village of Uig.
By Ferry from the West
From Fort William, follow the A830 west towards Mallaig. This scenic route, known as the Road to the Isles, takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes and offers some of the most spectacular Highland scenery, passing lochs, mountains, and historic landmarks along the way.
Continue through Glenfinnan, Lochailort, and Arisaig before arriving in the coastal village of Mallaig, where you will find the ferry terminal for crossings to Skye.
From Mallaig, take the Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) ferry to Armadale on the Isle of Skye. The crossing takes approximately 30–45 minutes and offers stunning views across the Sound of Sleat towards the mountains of Skye.
Once you arrive in Armadale, follow the A851 north towards Broadford, where you can connect to the island’s main road network.
We recommend checking ferry times and availability in advance, especially during busy periods, and allowing extra time for the journey to Mallaig as this is a popular and scenic route where you will want to take your time and enjoy the views, ferry bookings are essential.
By Bus
Citylink run buses from Inverness and Glasgow to Skye. Some of these stop in Portree and you need to get a connection, some go straight through to Uig.
By Air
Flybe and Easyjet have flights to Inverness from Gatwick, Luton, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester. You can then travel on by bus or car from Inverness.
